Capcom is smart. Given the rich history of Street Fighter, Capcom has a lot to pull from and they aren't shy about using its legacy as a marketing tool. They know that nostalgia is a hell of a thing.
SF2 came out in 1992. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles originally came out only 5 years before that, in 1987. They know that the kids who loved Street Fighter 2 are also likely to be fans of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It makes absolutely sense to do a collaboration, and that collab has gone live, and I am loving it! The nostalgiabating is real!
When you boot up Street Fighter 6, you'll see the bulletin board which pops up every time there's something new. You can access the TMNT store from there. However, once you exit from the bulletin board, to get back to the TMNT store, you have to go to your menu, go to Store - Crossover Items - then Gear Hub Shop.
There are a lot of phone frames and emotes and sticker sets, but the thing that really draws the fans in are the skins and the accessories.
Each skin costs 750 fighter coins, which is technically around $17 - $15 for 610, and another $5 for the remaining fighter coins. It is quite pricey. Thankfully, these are very optional and can only be used for your custom World Tour character, so if you're in Street Fighter 6 more for the competitive aspect of the game, you won't have to worry about these.
There are also accessories - bandanas for your custom character. Each one costs 250 fighter coins.
Yeah, that pricing is a little crazy. Get used to it, because that's how it's going to be for all crossovers in the future. Hopefully, character skins won't cost as much.
I could only afford one skin so I got the best turtle, Leonardo.
Ryu or Ken's fighting style look fantastic on Leonardo. I had to go with Ken because I haven't met Ken in World Tour yet, but as soon as I do, I'm swapping really fast.
Raph would probably look awesome using Luke's or Guile's style. Mikey might look awesome using Deejay's style. And Donnie might do nicely with JP's.
