Because of Marvel's webshow, The Watcher, and the Green Lantern petition, I was introduced to Kirby Krackle's music. My interest was piqued! There's a band out there that plays good geek music! I researched a bit about them and started listening to their music on their YouTube channel and eventually, on their Bandcamp.
Kirby Krackle is Kyle Stevens and Jim Demonakos. They're a Seattle-based indie rock band who plays geek music. I freakin' love their stuff. They wrote songs like Ring Capacity about Green Lantern, Zombie Apocalypse and I Wanna Live in a World Full of Heroes. Though I forgot to ask, I assume their name is based off a comic book technique known as the Kirby krackle, also known as Kirby dots, normally used to depict cosmic energy.

So, one day, I decided I wanted their music with me where ever I go in my iPod and/or phone. As it turns out, if you buy anything on Bandcamp, you can send the artist a message. I took a chance and asked Kirby Krackle if they'd be willing to talk to GeekOut for a quick interview. And much to my delight, Kyle agreed!
Here's what we talked about.

As part of Fully Booked's David Finch festivities, they went all out and had cosplayers greet fans and contests for aspiring artists. I was so impressed with the Bat-family that I just had to take pictures. Thankfully, I had an in with them since I work in the same company as Flash, who was dressed as Nightwing this time around.
Cosplay
I guess this post'll just have a bunch of shoddily taken pics. I apologize; I'm not really a photo guy. Costumes are cool anyway.

This was a silhouette shot that didn't quite work out the way I wanted it to. I just kind of made it hard to tell who they are. Oh well. Sorry about that.
Here are better (well, relatively) of them.

Articles about why it's great to date a geek have populated the Internet ever since the invention of the "publish" button. More than a way for geeks to finally convince some normal people to give them some lovin', it really is no secret that geeks make for the best significant others. If you doubt this, here are some links that might change your mind - 5 Reasons It's Better to Date a Geek, Why You Should Date a Geek, and Top 10 Reasons Why You Should Date a Geek Girl. There are literally a bajillion more online; I just linked to the first three on Google.
So now that we've established why it's a good idea (if it's on the Internet, it should be a real thing), let the folks at GeekOut help you catch your very own geek like they were Pokémon.

Section I: Meeting
Finding them
Some geeks are kind of like people with Hepatitis. Unless they're very open about it, and you don't pay enough attention, you'll never really know. Others are so proud of their geekeries, it's tempting to slap them across the face while saying "Yes, man, we get it. You like Iron Man. Jesus Christ." All I'm saying is that there could be a geek in your class, at your workplace, or even in your neighborhood and you wouldn't even know. It's not like there's a list for people who like comic books and video games floating around. Pay closer attention; they're everywhere, posing as normal people.
Did you know Vin Diesel was a giant geek? Or Cody Rhodes loves Legend of Zelda?
