Anime Festival Asia is the largest and most followed J-Culture & ACG (Anime Comics Games) Festival in Southeast Asia. For its 15th year, Crunchyroll will sponsor and be a promotional partner of this much-awaited fan event, one of Crunchyroll’s first sponsorships in Southeast Asia, as Crunchyroll is set to give back to anime fans in a part of the world that has a special connection with anime.
The stuff of real-world anime magic, the partnership between Crunchyroll and AFA will set the stage on how anime fans can experience and celebrate their favorite animated worlds.
What to Expect:
- The JUJUTSU KAISEN Experience - as if season 2 doesn’t hit hard enough, those who want to experience cursed energy can be part of iconic moments based on this series
- Presence at the AKIBA Stage - while Crunchyroll has been busy preaching the word of anime across the globe, fans will be able to get updates on plans about anime streaming, films, merchandise, and more
- SACRA Music Festival - Crunchyroll will be there as a main sponsor of Sacra Music Fes — attendees will be given Crunchyroll merchandise while they rock out to their favorite anime hits, ( but promise not to cry when Tamaki Nami sings REASON or BELIEVE )
Crunchyroll’s Commitment to the Anime Community:
“As a leading destination for anime, Crunchyroll is thrilled to be on the ground with anime fans in Southeast Asia through our sponsorship at Anime Festival Asia,” said Markus Gerdemann, Crunchyroll’s Senior Vice President of Marketing. “Crunchyroll knows that fans in this part of the world have a unique relationship with anime, and we’d love to be part of that. Each activation at AFA will be tailored with the fans in mind.”
Beyond the Crunchyroll-sponsored activities, fans can experience two other concerts, a meet and greet with notable seiyuus (AI KAYANO!), encounter the different booths on the floor, and most importantly, watch anime!
AFA is the largest Japanese culture, anime, comics, and games festival in Asia — with a record-breaking attendance of over 145,000 from last year’s event.
With more and more anime titles (and fans) born everyday — this year is looking to break that record. Who knows, a new title might be born: “I attended AFA and got isekai’d while making my way home and became the giant television that shows anime in a fantasy world.”
