Right now, the mouse I use is the Logitech G502 Proteus. This is only because I had to give up my 2013 Razer DeathAdder because of the somewhat prevalent double clicking issue. It was the only thing (well 1 of 2 things - more on that later) that kept it from the perfect gaming mouse. And now, the best gaming mouse is getting a major upgrade.
Razer just announced the Razer DeathAdder Elite.
The new DeathAdder will now be equipped with one of the best optical sensors in the world. It'll be given the Razer 5G Optical Sensor, which can track up to 16,000 DPI at 450 IPS. The DeathAdder Elite also has the highest measured resolution accuracy at 99.4%, according to their PR team. Supposedly, this is going to be the fastest, most accurate mouse to date.
However, for me personally, the real upgrade here are the Razer Mechanical Mouse Switches - and the Razer DeathAdder is the first to have it. The switches were co-designed and produced by Omron, a global mouse switch supplier. The new switches are designed for the fastest response times as possible. They're rated for 50 million clicks (also known as a couple dozen hours on a MOBA). Hopefully, this solves the double-clicking issue that has plagued a lot of DeathAdder agents.
Of all the things I miss about the DeathAdder, the immaculate scroll wheel is chief among them. That thing blows the Logitech G502's scroll wheel out of the water. And now, the Razer DeathAdder Elite's scroll wheel has been improved even further.
Remember when I said the double clicking was 1 of 2 things that kept it from being perfect? Yeah - the 2nd thing was an on-the-fly DPI-switching, a feature that all modern gaming mice should have.
Apart from all those new upgrades, it's got all the features that you expect from Razer's flagship mouse. The DeathAdder Elite will keep the ergonomics and shape, which I just abso-freakin'-lutely love. It will also make use of Razer Chroma, which syncs lighting features across devices - a feature that I personally don't care for but I'm glad to have because Razer green wouldn't go great with my blue PC set-up.
The world's best gaming mouse just got even better. We've improved just about everything on the Razer DeathAdder Elite.
